What up yo.
What a day.
So Voices turned one year old lat week.
I have gotten immense therapeutic relief from writing this blog and dousing It with a ton of high -octane gasoline.
My absolute passion for the world of Visual Storytelling is a shared passion, and just knowing that one set of eyes reads the articles we all write here….
It just jacks me up.
I want to say thank you.
I’m trying to branch out to podcasting next, and that being said…
My cousin Matt Candela tracked me down on Twitter a few weeks back. We were following each other already, but I had no idea it was him.
So he sent me a direct message there, introduced himself, told me how him and his buddy John Nuzzi just launched a podcast & blog called “That’ll Play” that was 80% dedicated to celebrating gasoline drenched, high-octane visual storytelling from the world of cinema and TV….just the way I like it.
“Would you be into sitting down and being on the podcast?”
I wrote him back as quickly as I could, literally…I was so excited & humbled to be asked, my thumbs were shaking as I typed…
I didn’t know what to expect, I thought…
“Jesus Fuck…what if I screw up?”
I mean…I listen to a lot of podcasts, and then I began listening to theirs…they sounded so professional.
And there’s nothing like a good podcast.
Do being aware of all these big dogs, and hearing Matt & John discuss “LOST” with Sara last week and hearing them discuss “Spielberg” with Dana from the “How is This Movie?” Podcast a few weeks back….I was intimidated man.
But as soon as it began…
I knew we were all of the same mindset.
These guys knew there shit, just like all of us movie fanatics do…and we had a great, great discussion.
We choose to celebrate Martin Scorsese…
It was a little magical to me that a year after I launched my little Voices blog because I Just had to vent about film and TV somehow, here was another huge milestone for the site…
Maybe it was a signpost….
And the invitation was from a member of my family…
I look into these things, it’s all special…
It’s all magical.
Candela Blood runs strong.
Less than 48 hours later…our conversation is live.
So, I humbly ask you if you’re a film & TV lover…
take out a moment, or 80,
And join Matt, Johnny & myself…Wes…as we talk shop and celebrate the medium we all love dearly.
These guys are amazing, smart, funny, natural…their my family.
“To them…You’re just a freak… Like me.”
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did:
And thanks to all the Troops out there who have been supporting and reading and guzzling the gasoline with me these past 12 months….
For being loyal…
